Why Volunteer?

Ellis Fischel Cancer Center is Missouri's only hospital dedicated solely to cancer care. Its team of physician specialists and other trained professionals work together with a common goal: to provide the latest cancer treatments and improved quality of life for thousands of people each year.

Feel a Sense of Accomplishment

Helping others is one of the most rewarding experiences that volunteers will receive through assisting patients, family members, visitors, faculty and staff.

Meet New People

Volunteers come in contact with many people and form new friendships.

Contribute to the Community

Whether you donate a lot of time or a little, all volunteers make important contributions. It's a great way to give something back to the community.

Learn About Health Care Issues

Volunteers see how a cancer center runs, they learn about the concerns that affect patients.

Learn New Skills

The supportive environment allows volunteers to develop new skills as well as extend skills they already possess.

Ellis Fischel Cancer Center Auxiliary

In addition to volunteering at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, the Auxiliary adds the extra ingredient of "care" through projects for patients. Membership in the Auxiliary is not a requirement for volunteers. Volunteers have an opportunity to join the Auxiliary and participate in their numerous activities that benefit patient programs at Ellis Fischel.
